The project, Sorrow, at the Traffic Year, consists of two parts; interviews with Korean artists based in Vienna and Bremen and a photography series based on those interviews.

In the interviews, four Korean artists shared their racist experiences and their thought of the double oppression as Asian women in Austria and Germany before and after COVID-19. Indeed, they narrate why they thematize Asian female identities and Asian bodies in their artistic works. The photography series focuses on distinctive viewpoints regarding the residency and location in Europe as an Asian immigrant. The photograph reveals mundane, silent, and uncanny daily life during the Covid-19 lockdown. On the other hand, the written text of interviews on the glass of the picture frame offers the contrary realities Asian immigrants face in their day-to-day lives. This photography series implies Asian immigrants‘ stories are relevant everywhere in Europe. This project plans to continue with different Asian immigrant artists in various cities in Europe.
